Overview
EasyPRwire is a press release distribution service. Brands, startups, agencies and resellers submit an announcement, pick a plan, and the release is published across a network of more than 400 news and media websites. Pricing is one-time per release, with no subscriptions or hidden fees, and every order comes with live publication links so the result can be checked.
I joined in May 2025 as a part-time full-stack developer, became Technical Team Lead within five months, and am now Senior Full-Stack Developer and Technical Team Lead. I lead a six-member delivery team (four developers, one QA engineer and one DevOps engineer) across 6+ internal products that sit behind the public site.
The brief
A distribution business depends on trust, because customers are paying for a result they cannot easily inspect. The engineering brief follows from that:
- Make ordering simple and the pricing predictable.
- Make every outcome verifiable, with links to where the release was published.
- Support different kinds of customers: single buyers, agencies and resellers who need white-label workflows.
- Take payments reliably through more than one gateway.
- Keep several internal products moving at once without breaking the ones already in production.
What the platform does
For customers. A visitor compares plans (Starter, Elite, Premium and Ultimate tiers), submits a press release, pays once, and receives a report with live links. Higher tiers add journalist outreach, an editorial review, a priority queue, a dedicated account manager and white-label PDF reports. An order status page lets them follow progress.
For agencies and resellers. White-label workflows and bulk options mean an agency can run releases for its own clients under its own branding.
For the team. Behind the public site sit the 6+ internal products that support delivering each release, which is where most of my engineering work happens.
What I build and own
- REST APIs and features in Laravel/PHP and Next.js/TypeScript, built from approved requirements, with server-side validation and consistent error handling across all 6+ products.
- Database design: schemas and optimised MySQL queries that support order, billing and reporting workflows.
- Payments: the integrations with Stripe, ThriveCart and Razorpay, including the verification and edge cases that only show up in production.
- Quality and process: pull request reviews for a team of four developers, a clear Git workflow and shared coding standards, and fixes for defects reported by QA, each reproduced first and shipped without breaking existing services.
- Delivery: task breakdown, estimates and sprint planning with QA and DevOps, release preparation, and deployment verification on DigitalOcean and Nginx environments.
- Documentation: written guides for features and integrations so handover and onboarding do not depend on one person.
How we work
Requirements are agreed first, then split into tasks with estimates. Each change is a small pull request that is reviewed before it merges. QA validates edge cases against a staging environment, DevOps prepares the release, and the deployment is verified after it goes live. When something breaks in production, the process is the same every time: reproduce, find the root cause, fix it, review it, ship it.
What to look for on the live site
- The comparison between traditional newswires and EasyPRwire's one-time pricing model.
- The tiered pricing, and how the plan features scale with each tier.
- The three-step ordering process, results section and FAQ.
- The coverage list of outlets, and the industry pages for e-commerce, fintech, real estate and SaaS.
Why it matters to me
This is the most demanding product I work on, and it is where my approach to engineering has formed: tested, documented and reliable code, reviewed by the team, shipped with a plan to verify it.
